Earlier this year, the Google My Business Site manager user access levels mysteriously disappeared as an option for owners to grant. Google has now made it official with an email alerting of an upcoming switch for any Site manager left on the GMB account.
In a mass email, Google My Business has alerted millions of users of the impending update. “You’re receiving this email because one or more of your Business Profiles is managed by a Site manager,” states the first line of this official Google email.
“After 24 Oct 2021, the Site manager role will no longer be available on Google. Anyone who manages your business as a Site manager will be converted to a Manager.” This means users that were previously granted Site manager access will receive an automatic increase to Manager, which includes less limitations.
Until October 24th, 2021, Site manager will only be able to do the following: Edit Attributes, Edit food delivery links, edit limited business information such as hours of operation, publish business posts, add/edit/update cover photos, add/edit/update logo, add/edit/update gallery photos, add/edit/update products, respond reviews, download insights.
After October 24th, Site managers will become Managers, and have the same ability to edit the Google My Business listing as Owners, with the exception of adding/removing users, or removing the business profiles.
