Don’t Wait, Create your Tow Reputation!

Don’t Wait, Create your Tow Reputation!

In today’s on-line environment, the reputation of your tow business directly impacts the number of calls that you will get.

When most people think about reputation, they think about reviews. This is for good reason, as a reported 88% of consumers say that they trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations. Positive reviews produce an average of 18% uptick in cash calls for tow companies, like yours. This is a meaningful uptick for a tow business and it is within your power to control and influence your business reputation.

While reviews determine who does business with you, they also impact where your tow business shows up in search results. Google cares about giving the best answers to searchers. The best answers means providing quality tow companies first. Sure, distance and relevance are important, but equally as important is your business reputation. The number and quality of your business reviews determine your search positioning.

With OMG National by your side, you will get more reviews. We will also monitor reviews and even respond to reviews, on behalf of your business.  A business that takes the time to respond reviews will generate a .53 higher star rating on average. Responding to reviews also sends an important message to customers about the type of tow business that you are – one that cares.

Reviews are not the only important aspect of reputation. Managing your brand’s reputation starts with providing a great client experience. Client experience starts with your tow business information online.  The accuracy and reliability of this information across dozens of search services on maps, apps, search engines, and voice assistants is very important in setting proper expectations with your customer and starting their experience with your company on the right foot. OMG National helps business publish consistent, quality and accurate information across the web on over 75 sites where customers find you. This can be an otherwise daunting task for most business owners but it is an important one in the context of business reputation.

We know the importance of getting new cash calls and we are standing by to take your business to the next level by improving your reputation online. Don’t wait to see your reputation online, create your reputation online with OMG Tow Marketing!

This in combination with (UGC) User Generated Content, such as pictures, comments,  questions and even answers makes monitoring your GMB a key value to the OMG Partner Program.

  • 72% of businesses say video has improved their conversion rate.
  • 52% of consumers say that watching product videos makes them more confident in online purchase decisions.

Micro Moments

People spend an average of 3 Hours and 35 Minutes  on their smartphones every day, and by 2019, mobile devices will be the medium that gets the most minutes in the U.S. (finally surpassing television).

This is changing the way brands must work to capture buyers’ attention.

Micro-Moments is a “new consumer behavior,” as termed by Google, that delivers your marketing message clearly and concisely in a way that is of interest to the consumers – all within a span of seconds (otherwise, they lose their attention and are onto the next article!).

People generally make instant decisions on what to eat, which restaurant to choose, what to purchase, or where to go, so Micro-Moments that that every marketer should know about are:

To leverage these Micro-Moments to the fullest work with your Account Executive and Performance Manager to leverage your data across all the directories, review and social Sites. For more information on our directory expertise, visit this months OMG blog post!

Voice Search Revolution

The increasing use of voice search has made it important for companies to rethink their digital marketing strategies in 2019.

  • 50 %will be voice searches by the year 2020
  • 20% of searches on Google are voice searches
  • 25% of all Bing searches  are voice searches

Voice search plays an important role in providing all the relevant information that people are searching for through audio content. Artificial Intelligence is getting smarter and the number of errors made by voice assistants like Alexa, Siri and Google has reduced.

Keep in mind that not only will more companies produce audio content in the hopes of gaining brand awareness (so you should, too), but ads are likely to come in soon. Alexa will tell you the answer to your question along with a “word from her sponsor”. Which means you’ll be able to purchase voice ad space – like Google AdWords, but for home speakers.  OMG National is here to help you navigate the future of search.

Google My Business: Q & A

Have you noticed Google’s latest feature on your Google My Business page? It’s Q&A and  allows Google to crowdsource information about local businesses that may not be available within the structured attributes of Google My Business, or which is not immediately obvious from a local business’s own website.

Many SEO experts including our team here at OMG also speculate that Q&A may be assisting Google as it builds out an inventory of Voice Search queries and answers via Google Assistant

In a nutshell, Q&A provides valuable information to potential new customers.

How Does Google Q&A Work?

Any time a local business shows up in a Google search results, Google presents searchers with the option to ask a question about that business. In addition, we have created leading Questions and Answers that can put you in the best light and be the most relevant at the same time!

Once posted, the question appears on that business’s Google My Business profile.

Depending on which device they’re using, Local Guides (basically, super-users of Google Maps) may receive notifications that unanswered questions exist at businesses they’ve visited or that are located near them.

Here is where your relationship with OMG National has additional value. We are integrated with GOOGLE and can create as well as respond to questions!  DO not rely on outside customers, competitors or Local Guides control your message!

Wait, anyone can ask OR answer? Seriously? Isn’t it MY business profile?

While the information you provide in Google My Business is authoritative, your business profile is still part of a Google search result. It’s a delicate balance between Google wanting you to put your best foot forward and providing as much information as searchers want to see.

Perhaps not a surprise, but we found that 91% of questions from prospective customers have yet to be answered by business owners. Conversely, 61.6% have been answered by Local Guides. CONTROL your Q & A with a little help from your friends here at OMG National.

Online Directories: Local SEO – Tow Edition

If you own or operate a towing business, then you likely know the heavy impact that bad reviews can have on your business, and your mood. Customers are paying more and more attention to online review sites such as Yelp, Google Reviews, and even Facebook ratings.

Recently, GMB (Google My Business) has rolled out a few new changes to be aware of. Maximizing all of the available online real estate can be the key to unlocking a solid dominance within your local market’s search results.

So your company has been around a long time, you’ve got a good name and a known brand within the area. You’re one of several towers in your area, but despite your consistent social media presence and a recent website overhaul featuring a keyword-filled blog, your online presence, your share of voice within the search results hasn’t grown. Why?

The answer lies in understanding how the directories work and how to maximize them to help you grow your business from online search….

We’ve said before that Google is King, and this is still true. The search engine powerhouse recently emphasized their concerted effort to increase the importance of Google My Business. GMB is where their focus has shifted, especially in terms of local visibility. Last month, our blog discussed some of the ways that we can harness the power of GMB to affect your business listing.

Also worth considering: Use of voice searches and virtual assistants is on the rise. Prospective customers have become increasingly reliant on their smartphones, devices, and virtual assistants to find businesses.

Using our example, let’s say that Jim gets a call from his wife, she tells him that she is stuck on the side of the road and needs help. She blew a tire and hit the curb, she’s on a busy road, this is urgent!

Now Jim has an iPhone, he asks Siri for a tow company near him… Siri recommends Pro Tow and Jim sees that they have 4 stars on Yelp. Jim makes the call and help is on the way. A partnership between Yelp and Apple ensures that iPhone users are provided Yelp rated companies within most local searches.

However, if Jim had an Android phone or an Alexa Voice Assistant by Amazon in his office, he could have asked the same question and would have been fed structured data from business owners who were forward thinking enough to build out a complete online presence.

The various mobile devices and voice assistants use data provided by the businesses whose products and services match most closely with the searcher’s query. Taking control of the data that is out there is becoming more important with each passing week.

Leveraging your listing information and company profile on each of these sites can be overwhelming. OMG National, with the OMG Power Network, can keep your profile updated across the board fixing incorrect listings, suppressing duplicate listings, adding rich content additions like professional graphics, photos, and customized video.

When it comes to being found online in your area, don’t leave it to chance. Give your business the best opportunity you can, to stand out from the competition and claim your share of what’s out there.

Take Control of Your Reviews – Tow Edition

If you own or operate a towing business, then you likely know the heavy impact that bad reviews can have on your business. Customers are paying more and more attention to online review sites such as Yelp, Google Reviews, and even Facebook ratings.

Just a single bad review can drag your star ratings down. Heavy search volume for business reviews, has caused Google to promote sites like Yelp, Angie’s List, Home Advisor, and the Better Business Bureau. This interest by the public in online reviews, has caused Google to adjust its algorithm for search and has made them easily accessible within search. These reviews, if positive, can greatly assist operators in leveraging them for sales, conversely, negative reviews can cause sales to take a nosedive, as well as bringing about long term consequences.

Take this real-life story as an example of how a single negative review can impact a business:

James has operated his family towing business for over 20-years. As a tower for 5 different motor clubs, his trucks are always busy. James has made a name for his company, taking pride in his fleet of branded trucks, supporting his community, and working closely with the local police and sheriff’s department. Recently, one of his drivers was called to a DUI tow away. Though the tow itself went well, the mother of the driver went nuts, creating scathing reviews across Yelp, Google, and even their local town’s Facebook group. The next week James was following up on a large private property contract, he had met the customer already and felt that it was a done deal. When he arrived, the owner’s son came out to greet him. He stated that they had read their reviews and were concerned. James explained and the customer advised James that he would get back to him. Ultimately, that contract went to a competitor who was brand new to the area.

Another less known impact of reviews in the towing business, is on insurance renewals. Recently, a tower from Maryland was denied his insurance renewal. Once of the reasons stated by his broker was a preponderance of negative reviews. With insurance rates skyrocketing and always hard to obtain in the towing business, a well-managed system for handling reviews can save a lot of time and headache.

Issues like these are much more common than you would imagine. At OMG National, our clients are often faced with having to deal with “bad review fallout”.

According to Lee Resources, when a customer is left unhappy, there is a 91% chance that they won’t do business with that company again. To make matters worse, the White House Office of Consumer Affairs found that a dissatisfied customer told, on average, 9 to 15 people about a negative experience with a company. Imagine what a single bad experience can do when an angry customer has a phone or computer and easily-accessible review sites at their disposal!

Whether the accounts are legitimate or not, one cannot underestimate the importance of managing online reviews. As a business owner, you should acknowledge every review that comes in. The fact of the matter is that once a review is written and posted, the damage is done. The bigger concern is how you go about protecting your interests and dealing with them.

The OMG National team has some insights about what you can do to keep an eye on your reputation and enable damage control, if needed.

Claim Your Review Pages
It is critical that you monitor your review pages. Your business may have a sterling reputation, but a single bad review can snowball quickly, and not “minding your pages” can lead to a sudden and sharp downturn in your revenue. The solution is to claim your pages and to keep a watchful eye on Yelp, Google My Business, Facebook, and any industry specific review sites.

Devise and Implement a System for Dealing with Bad Reviews
Never let a bad review go one-sided! Whether you question the legitimacy of a review, it is important to respond to the reviewer in a sincere way, and to invite offline resolution of the issue. Yes, you will need to mitigate the damage and it may require some defense, but an acknowledgement of their concern, that is sincere and invites a conversation is best practice.

Target Bad Reviews and Flag Reviews That Seem Illegitimate
Some bad reviews may resonate with you, you might remember the interaction. On the other hand, many businesses encounter reviews that seem…fishy. If you feel that a review is completely unwarranted or that it could have come from a competitor, many review sites have a process for “flagging” these in order to report them. While some bad reviews remain even after flagging, it is important to jump on the review process quickly to ensure that no one is taking advantage of your company for personal reasons or otherwise.

Ask for Good Reviews
According to Inc. magazine, it takes roughly 40 good reviews to undo the damage of one review. The flip side, though, is that only 1 in 10 happy customers leaves a review. The act of simply asking customers for whom you have provided good service, to provide you with online feedback is easy and effective. There are many ways that you can do this, whether it is directly requested via email with a link to your Yelp or Google page, printed reminders, or any other feedback solicitation.

With just a little strategy, a business can recover from bad reviews. If you are looking to improve your reputation, OMG National offers an array of services that can help you navigate the digital landscape, avoid the pitfalls of review sites and social media platforms – and grow your business. We would love to help you today, give our team a call!

March 2019: Voice Search – Position ZERO

Bring it On! OMG is at the forefront of voice search and we see it working for our clients on a daily basis.

Do you use Voice Search? Well, 50% of us are using it daily and the numbers continue to grow. Typed and spoken searches will output different results. Which means that optimizing your site for a traditional search doesn’t always look the same as optimizing your site for voice search.

The most significant concern about voice search? People using voice search on mobile will get only one top result. This one result is affectionately dubbed “position zero,” and everyone wants it. By 2020, half of all searches will be conducted by voice. So by 2020, half of your potential customers won’t see your website even if you’re fourth in the Search Engine Results Page or SERP. Ranking number one — or securing position zero — will be the main goal for every business owner.

Speak to your account executive and OMG Performance Manager about your specific SEARCH GOALS!

March 2019: Google My Business – It’s where you want to be!

Wow! Google is at it again, with all roads leading to Google My Business (GMB).

Google MAPS are the coveted spot for local search, yet there is still no hard and fast rule as to who is on the list. We already know that “Intent” is the goal of Google, so logically, Distance, Relevance, and Prominence are key factors which include accurate listings, correct categories, reviews, and structured data, which we develop and maintain for all our clients.

Now that Google My Business (GMB) is being integrated with Search, attributes from your GMB posts and website snippets seem to add the extra elements needed to get and stay on the maps.

Check back next month after our Google meetings for further insight and implementation. In the meantime, I can assure you that your account team is following all the best practices to assure your visibility and success.
