Proximity: The closer your business is to the location of the searcher will rank you higher in local results than those further away.
Prominence: Putting local SEO more in line with global SEO, how well-known a business or location is can also provide a better result from the search engine. However, prominence is also based on information Google has about the business from across the Web (like links, articles and directories).
These 3 ‘P’s provide Google with signals that will be used to rank a business for a specific local query, however, it would be unwise not to consider other factors that play a bigger role in the success of a business other than just achieving a top ranking for a local query.
